About Art Gallery Reigate Ximena Betancour

Ximena's Semi-abstract and contemporary interpretations of landscapes, vibrant and distinctive mixed media paintings on gesso canvas demonstrate a strong emotional connection with her subject. Her unique technique of weaving of paint, light, colour and mood onto textured surfaces result in a highly personal and often thought-provoking interpretation of special paces or times. Her subject is mainly landscapes, Isles and coasts around England and places around the world, whose career has spun over 25 years.​

Ximena born in Concepcion, Chile and she moved to Rapa Nui-Easter Island where she trained two years full time art at Amaya Rivas school in Rapa Nui Easter Island, Chile, inspired by the famous paintings "When will you marry?" and Maternity by Paul Gauguin.
